Sam & Max take to the streets once again in the all-new adventure, The Mole, The Mob and the Meatball. In this latest game, the famous duo moves away from the previous two episodes' television theme. Instead, they head into
[code]Downloathe seedy underworld of the Toy Mafia, starting with the Mafia-Free Playland and Casino, where the people there wear suits with freaky gigantic toy bear heads and talk like 1930's gangsters. Our duo must find a way to infiltrate the mafia and uncover the truth... or at least something that looks a lot like it.

Similar to previous episodes, simple and short game play complement the comedic story and dialogue. It shouldn't take most people about thirty minutes to an hour to beat the game, although a clickable object at the far edge of the screen may be overlooked. As a result, the game comes to a halt while players try to figure out what to do next. With that exception, the rest of the puzzles present obvious solutions and everything works out smoothly.

Unfortunately, there don't appear to be as many tangential talk options as previous episodes to supplement the comedy and lengthen gameplay. Nor does this episode have as many zingers and one-liners as its predecessors. However, Episode 3 makes up for it by including some funny new puzzles, such as completing a series of "Yo Mama..." jokes. The game also leaves clues for what the next episode may involve.

Similar to previous episodes, players download The Mole, The Mob and the Meatball through GameTap's subscription service. Sam & Max make a great distraction from lengthier, more complex games, supplemented by an animated cartoon series (also broadcast through GameTap) and web comic. So, players can enjoy as much out-of-game content as found in-game. It certainly helps to fill in the time while fans eagerly wait for the release of the next episode.
